Cryptocurrency is gaining popularity day by day. It is known to be a best platform to invest on. There are many ways, we can invest on Cryptocurrency. One of the well-known way is to buy them. Another way you can go for is Mining rig. Mining rig is the one of the efficient way of getting these valuable cryptocurrencies. Certain consideration should be made necessarily to make it profitable to maximum level.
What actually a mining rig is?
Before learning how to make it, you need to know what actually it is. It is a process of setting up powerful processing machines which will carry out mining of the crypto currency. These mining rigs help in securing and successfully completing the transaction on the network.
For this participation the owner of the machine is rewarded by some amount of crypto currency. This participation is completed when pool add a block to a block chain. A block chain is the public record of all bit coin transactions. The block chain may be viewed by anyone.
This work is all done by the mining software. The mining software of a miner hook the mining hardware to a given mining pool. Mining pool is the pooling of resources by miners, by which a joint group of crypto currency miners combine their computational resources over a network.
Then rigs hash rate at the pool is pointed before mining. The Hash Rate is the speed at which a compute is completing an operation in the Bit coin code. The advantage of higher hash rate is that it increases your opportunity of finding the next block and receiving the reward. Mining rigs is further divided into two types that are GPU mining and CPU mining.
It is the mining done by using CPU processor. When bit coins were first released it was the common way of mining, but as time passes mining difficulties increases, so the need for more effective hardware.
- It is inexpensive since it has no specific requirements and can be done on any ordinary computer.
- It can easily mine other alternate coins easily.
- It is not profitable, because it is slow.
- Low hash rate
It involves the use of graphic card for the processing and used more widely than CPU mining.
- Higher hashing power.
- Can mine wide variety of crypto currency that have different hashing algorithms.
- Profitable when done properly.
- Quite expensive.
What you need to start cryptomining using a mining rig?
Here is what you need to start with:
- Motherboard :
Motherboard is the most important aspect. It will determine which system you will use and how many GPUs you will install on it. Make sure that for mining, your device is compatible to MOBO for better performance.
- Cooling system :
You need to make sure that your rig is placed at the right place. It should get considerable amount of air flow so for that you need to have a room with proper ventilation.
Keeping the GPU cool is the best way for you to get the best results. You can use AC, oscillating fans systems and air duct boosters to keep the temperature at optimum level at all times.
- Graphics card :
Mining rig is all about getting the best graphic card. You can see our best graphics cards for mining or you can just go for NVIDIA GTX 1080 due to its ROI and faster hashrates.
4. Power supply :
Power supply is the area where you need to take the most precautions. You can just use any power connection but it is recommended that you have a dedicated circuit for the mining rig. It will keep you safe from power fluctuations and will increase the life of the rig too. You should use a power supply of 1500 watt or more for safer mining.
Building Mining rig; the right way
- Set up your motherboard:
You need to have a flat surface where you would place your motherboard. It should also be fixed so that no disturbance is created. Insert the CPU plug into the socket and turn it on. Use a standard thermal paste to apply on all fixtures inside your CPU to avoid overheating,
- Reboot the system using usb stick:
Just turn the system on, load the OS and browse the website of the manufacturer of your motherboard. Check for all the drivers and download them. After installation of the drivers, run the windows update setup and update all the window files.
- Optimize window:
Disable super fetch. With the SSD in place, the will be the set up: Run -> Services -> super fetch (disable).
You should then disable all updates and make sure you cancel any scheduled tasks. Download the latest version of video card drivers and then do an installation then reboot your computer. On booting up, go to Device Manager to check and verify that the system has detected all the GPUs.
- Gpu bios setup:
Before you proceed, it is also prudent to make a backup of all the files. For the RX series, Polaris Bios Editor is recommended.
Next, we want to set up our GPU by doing a BIOS flash. To do this, flash the BIOS of each and every GPU with AtiFlash, then reboot your computer.
- Download mining software:
Login and download your preferred mining software and install. The next thing is to choose a pool and set up your pool’s credentials.
Choosing a pool is essential, if you realize a good ROI because if you choose to solo mine, the returns will be too little and far apart. You should now go ahead and set up the .BAT file to automatically start the mining software of your choice on system startup.
- Overlocking software:
Download any overclocking application. Use that to make adjustments to the GPUs core, voltage and memory. Aim at having low voltage use, but high memory clocks for crypto like ETH. For optimum output, tweak around with the settings until you get what’s best for you.
Once you are done with all this, start mining. You can see our mining guide for cryptocurrencies for reference or can contact us for details.
